Will We Ever Live In A Vegan World?

A Question About The Future

Thousands around the globe hope for a day when people will no longer kill animals for food, but will instead eat a diet of only plants so that animals will no longer be harmed. Will that day ever come? The answer is yes, although there are some important considerations to study in order for us to be a part of that joyous future for animals and people.

First let’s take a look at exactly what it is that animal caretakers hope for. When a person cares about an animal, they don’t want that animal to suffer, and they don’t want to lose that animal. Now we can see that even if everyone ate a strictly vegan diet beginning tomorrow, animals would still suffer and die, although not from being eaten. They would die of old age, disease or accident. So in caring about animals our greatest hope is that there will be no more death.

Will there be a time in the future with no more death? To answer questions about the future, we can look to and trust the word of God, our creator. The one God who created everything and everyone surely knows the desire in our hearts to be no longer under the reign of death, and for our animals to no longer be under that dark reign.

Two important considerations come up then, “why is there death at all?” when God loves us, and “how will death come to an end?” The bible tells us that death was not in any way part of God’s original creation. When God created the very first people, our grandparents Adam and Eve, about 6,000 years ago, they were designed to live forever, along with the animals. It was only after mankind’s rebellion against God that death entered the world:

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned

Romans 5:12

So in truth, the reason we age then deteriorate and die is because we have sinned, that is to say, we have broken God’s law which is known as the ten commandments:

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:23

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1 John 3:4

The man Jesus is perhaps most well known because about 2,000 years ago he died on a cross and rose to life again three days later. Over 500 people at once witnessed that Jesus had been raised back to life:

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

1 Corinthians 15

Since Jesus overcame the grave, we can look to him for an answer on how we can have a world without death.

We have all broken God’s law, so we need to be forgiven. The wages of sin is death, so being guilty we die, but Jesus is the only one without sin so we can be reconciled back to God only by accepting the sacrifice of his life:

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 3

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Acts 4

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 14:6

10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Isaiah 53

In the end death will be defeated by Jesus Christ, the one who also created all things:

21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.

24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

1 Corinthians 15

After he returns, Jesus will then create a new earth where there is no more death. This is the “vegan world” as it has been called, where animals no longer die:

6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.

9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

Isaiah 11

The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord.

Isaiah 65:25

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Revelation 21

We can see from Revelation verse 8 above that not everyone will inherit everlasting life in the new earth, but only those who have faith will be saved. We may be saved only by grace, which is forgiveness of our sins, by faith in Jesus Christ:

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10

We cannot be saved by doing good deeds to somehow earn eternal life:

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians 2

So in conclusion, eternal life in a so called “vegan world” without death or suffering may be ours as a free gift, if we have faith in Jesus. So please, Have Faith! And please learn more about Jesus with us.

Why Are There Fossils In The Ground?

The bible clearly describes the great flood which covered the earth about 4300 years ago: In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Who Is Jesus?

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
